As a result of a wider spread of the coranavirus globally, Zamfara State Governor, Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawallen Maradum has put measures in place to curb the pandemic in the State.
Matawalle, while addressing the people of the state in a broadcast said government has resolved to lock down bordering Zamfara, katsina,
Sokoto states considering its proximity for 14 days.
“Our decision as government is not far from our effort to curtail the spread of the dreaded virus among the people of the state,” Matawalle stressed.
He said the government took the decision to close the borders, screen passengers coming or leaving motor parks to prevent them from contracting the virus which has been a global challenge.
Matawalle also directed workers to stay at home for two weeks to avoid contracting the virus.
Speaking to our correspondent, the Commissioner of Health, AlhajiYahaya Muhammad Kanoma expressed gratitude to Allah for making Governor Matawalle take these steps in order to protect people from being affected by COVID-19.
