Yobe State Government will soon embark on recruitment of additional teachers in the state.
The state governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam stated this at the quadrennial delegates’ conference held at the conference of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) in Damaturu recently.
Represented by the state Acting Head of Service, Alhaji Kachallah G. Jumbam, the governor assured the NUT that the state government would continue to do everything possible to improve the welfare of the teachers.
Governor Gaidam equally urged the teachers to embrace the culture of modern teaching to improve the education standard of the pupils.
He further urged the newly elected officials of the union to justify the confidence reposed in them towards ensuring effective and efficient teaching profession of their members.
Those elected are Ado Idrissa, chairman; Haruna Maiwaram, deputy chairmam; Muhammad Babiye K., treasurer and Ali Modu Babbangida, as internal Auditor 1 among other newly elected officials.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected chairman of the union Ado Idrissa, pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him, urging members of the union to support him in discharging his duties effectively on problem confronting the teaching profession in the country at large.
