Yobe executes 17 electricity projects in 9 months

Yobe State Rural Electrification Board (REB) General Manager, Umara Mustapha, has disclosed that the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni has executed 17 out of 26 electricity projects he initiated in various towns and villages in the state.
Engr. Mustapha, who stated this at a press briefing in Damaturu, said that the projects were awarded by the administration from May 29, 2019 to date.
He said: “Within the period under review, the governor of the State has embarked on 26 electricity projects across the state in less than one year.”
The REC boss said that of these “26 projects, 17 have been completed while five are ongoing and work would commence soon on the remaining four. I wish to inform you that by the grace of Almighty God, all these projects would be completed by April 2020.”
He said that the governor has since the inception his administration sustained constant and efficient 24-hour power supply to all the public hospitals in the state for efficiency in healthcare delivery to the people of the state and even beyond.
Mustapha said that currently five electrification projects in Pompomari Bayan Poly, Damaturu, Garga village, Chirokusko village, Lawan Ngoma North of Nguru and Ministry of Works Extension in Damaturu are ongoing, adding that four projects in Potiskum, Gashu’a, Negelzarma and the University Teaching Hospital will commence soon.
