Yar’adua varsity gets new VC

The new Vice Chancellor of Umar Musa Yar’adua University Katsina, Prof. Sanusi Mamman has assumed duty with a promise to implement positive changes within the institution for the overall development of the system.
This is contained in a statement signed by Abdulhamid Danjuma, head of Information and Protocol of the university.
Addressing the management of the university shortly after he took over the mantle of leadership, Prof. Mamman reiterated that he would spur the growth of the institution through purposeful leadership.
The Vice Chancellor called for proper synergy between all the components of the university to accelerate its growth thereby justifying the huge resources the state government had been investing in the institution.
Prof. Mamman reminded them of the enormous challenges in the system, promising to surmount them through good planning and the eventual implementation of the plans.
He charged them to continue to exhibit high sense of commitment, discipline and hard work which are the hallmark of the present state government.
In the meantime, the Vice Chancellor had charged students, parents and stakeholders in the university to contribute positively to take the institution to the next level.
Prof. Mamman gave the charge while welcoming the leadership of the Student Union Government of the University, the Alumni of the institution, trade groups, his former and current students as well as colleagues from sister institutions on courtesy visits.
He enjoined each of the visiting groups to help him by offering concrete advices that would open the road maps to propel the growth of the school.
The Vice Chancellor, who promised to operate an open door policy, expressed profound gratitude to the state government for finding him worthy to spearhead the affairs of the university.
He pledged to effect positive changes in the university to justify the confidence reposed in him by Governor Aminu Bello Masari led-administration.
In their separate remarks, the leaders of the visiting groups promised to continue to support and co-operate with him in order to achieve the desired objectives.
