World Bank approves N106m for Rimi LG projects

World Bank has approved the disbursement of N106 Million to eleven communities in Rimi Local Government Area of Katsina State for the execution of projects.
The projects are to be executed through the supervision of Katsina State Community and Social Development Agency (KTCSDA).
The benefitting communities include Kurabau, Kukoki, Bai and TakaTsimi.
Others are Tsagero, Turaji, Sabuwar Unguwa, Remawa, Tudun Kadir and Fuduma.
Speaking at the occasion, the Acting General Manager of KTCSDA, Muhammad Dikko Abdulaziz said the approved amount will be disbursed based on requests submitted by each community.
Abdulaziz said projects to be executed by the communities include construction of roads, drainages, culverts, boreholes, schools, health centres among others.
He explained that out of the approved amounts, about N20.8million will be disbursed as first segment, representing 30 to 50 per cent of the total money for the execution of each project. According to him, the remaining amount will be disbursed in batches.
Abdulaziz warned benefiting communities to ensure judicious use of the money provided for them, saying the agency will not accept any shoddy job from the communities.
Earlier, Chairman Transition Committee of Rimi Local Government Area, Abdulahi Aliyu Turaji had commended the World Bank for selecting Rimi Local Government Area to benefit from its assistance.
Turaji noted that the execution of the project will enhance the living standard of the benefiting communities.
He called on the communities to ensure the completion of the projects before the rainy season.
