The Kano chapter of the National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria (NACHPN) has assured its members, stakeholders and the general public that it has remained committed to its mandate and will provide all the necessary support and advocacy to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
A statement issued by the secretary of the association, Comrade Aliyu Ado Kabo, recently said the association was conducting a brief assessment on the preparedness of its members to adjust to the COVID-19 safety measures introduced by NCDC and the state government.
According to the statement, the association requested that all PHCCs and Zonal Chiefs in their zones to do the same.
The statement reads: “The National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria (NACHPN) has observed with growing concern related to the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
“The association is assuring all its members, stakeholders and general public that it remains committed to its mandate and will provide all the necessary support and advocacy to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.”
The statement added: “Measures are being put in place to ensure members are fully committed in the fight against the spread of COVID-19 using online delivery methods, social media among others.
“Efforts are being made to ensure awareness is spread at the grassroots. The chairman of the association (NACHPN) Kano State Chapter is encouraging members, other health care professionals and the traditional rulers to help in spreading awareness of the reality and preventive measures of COVID 19.”
