Use local dialects to sensitize public on covid-19
From Sule Aliyu, Bauchi
Bauchi State Government has appealed to the Federal Government not to allow Nigerians abroad to return to the country in a bid to curtail the spread of covid-19 in communities across the state.
Similarly, media organizations have been urged to use various local dialects to sensitize general public on the disease to curtail its spread.
Speaking to journalists on covid-19 risk communication, the Executive Chairman of the state Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Rilwanu Muhammad further called on the Federal Government to restrict movements in and out of the country to contain the COVID-19 spread.
“The virus moves as individuals continue to move around, the transmission continues to move across the country with increasing cases.
“They are in places they want to be because they don’t want to develop our country, so allow them to remain there and not to bring more problems to us.
“We are pleading with the Federal Government not to return its nationals abroad for the country to fight the spread of the virus into our communities.
“Those in Bauchi that tested negative had to be tested for the second time because they are high-risk contacts,” he stressed.
