Sokoto PDP warns Senator Wamakko against unguarded allegations
From Umar Danladi Ado, Sokoto
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State has noted with dismay, the unguarded claim by Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko at the APC governorship campaign rally in Gwadabawa that the PDP is planning to rig the upcoming elections in the state.
This is contained in a statement from the party’s Publicity Secretary in the state, Alhaji Abdullahi Yusuf Hausawa.
The statement said the party views this latest spurious allegation as unfortunate and an insult on the people of the state, who are not unaware of the dirty politics being promoted and sanctioned by the Senator.
“It is sad and unbecoming of a former governor of the state and claimant to leadership to resort to such ridiculous tactics of scoring undeserved political points,” he said.
It stated that the claim by Senator Wamakko is a good omen to the electorate in the state, who are living witnesses to his party’s arrogant claim of being favored in the upcoming polls by federal authorities, especially INEC.
“The PDP in the state and the nation at large, expects no preferential treatment from any agency but is rather, well prepared to win all elections fair and square.
“Our party’s political posture has been known to be disciplined and law abiding, in spite of the provocative character of the APC. This is because we are confident of emerging victorious in free and fair polls.
“We therefore, caution the Senator to desist from making unguarded and unsubstantiated allegations. He and the APC should rather focus on cleaning their act to uphold politics of maturity and honor,” it concluded.
