Sokoto PDP fails to provide infrastructural development -APC chair
From Umar Danladi Ado, Sokoto
The All Progressives Congress (APC), Sokoto State Chapter has said that the PDP led-administration in the state has nothing to celebrate as it failed in the provision of infrastructure and welfare even to its supporters.
The party also noted that since the reelection of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, the state government has failed to take or unveil any program or projects that would lead the state out of the much acclaimed poverty, for which it has won the first position, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
“We are so to say, first from behind. The only thing the Sokoto State Government is well known for is: “We will do this, we will do that.
“A chain of unending promises that will never be realized in the life time of this administration,” it stated.
This is contained in a statement signed and issued to newsmen by the state chairman of the APC, Alhaji Isa Sadiq Achida in Sokoto, recently.
It added that: “It is a tradition for governments to take stock of their performances during the past 12 months, but to our chagrin, the state government has maintained a deaf silence.
“We are not the least surprised however, because unlike other states, Sokoto has nothing to celebrate.
“Even those that were sympathetic to the PDP in the past, have now broken ranks with the PDP-led government in the state, this is obvious because the government has failed in the provision of infrastructure.
“It has also failed in the provision of welfare even to its supporters.”
Accordingly, the statement further said that it is likely that the government would use the prevailing Coronavirus pandemic as an excuse to cover their unpardonable failures.
He maintained that it is on record that the pandemic first appeared in the state in March this year and governors with the intention to perform have already established themselves for all to see and acknowledge.
