Sokoto State Command of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has succeeded in apprehending a notorious drug baron popularly known as Madam Queen and 18 others.
The State Commander of the Agency, Mr. Yakubu Kido disclosed this in Sokoto, saying the popular drug baron has been on the top watch-list and most wanted by the Command for over 10 years.
Mr. Kido said the suspected baron who is the dealer of various illegal drugs is also a syndicate dealer of Cannabis Sativa (Indian hemp) across Sokoto State and was arrested alongside 18 others who are known to be her sales boys.
The Commander explained that Madam Queen is residing at Raymond Village in Dange Shuni Local Government Area of the State, revealing that on February 28, she was found with several illegal drugs like Pentazocine injection among others.
According to Mr. Kido, Pentazocine injection is topping the chart as a class ‘A’ of prohibited and illegal drugs worldwide.
He maintained that following the arrest of the suspects, the Command, within the month of February, 2020, has seized no fewer than 141.534kg of illegal drugs in the State.
Kido said the seized drugs include tramadol diazepam, pentazocine injection and 134.128kg of Cannabis Sativa.
He also revealed that a popular hotel in Sokoto was raided and in addition with other illegal drug black spots were raided last month in Sokoto metropolis.
