‘Senate President, worthy ambassador of Yobe’

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has described the Senate President, Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, as a worthy son and an ambassador of the state.
“Lawan’s performance within his short stay in office, especially in the restoration of the January to December budget cycle and the passage of the 2020 budget attested to his enviable leadership qualities,” he said.
Buni spoke in Gashu’a when he launched the distribution of “Strategic Constituency Empowerment Materials” worth millions of Naira which were procured by Senator Lawan for the people of Yobe Zone C.
according to the governor, Lawan is making people of the state and the nation proud.
He said: “I want to say that, along with the government and people of Yobe State, I am personally proud of Dr. Ahmad Lawan’s towering political career and his service to our nation and our democracy.
“As we gather here, numerous empowerment materials, including buses, ambulances, tricycles, electric power transformers, computers, computer accessories, text books, grinding machines, sewing machines, vulcanizing machines, fertilisers and water pumps, among others will be given out by the Senate President to various beneficiaries across the constituency.
“In addition, a total of 300 people, 50 from each of the six local government areas of Yobe Zone C will receive a cash support of N250,000 to enable them start or expand their businesses.
“We all know that the Senate president is at the forefront of ensuring that in line with federal character, Yobe people, not just the people of Yobe Zone C, have a chance to secure political appointments and jobs at the federal level,” he said.
