Sanusi’s removal: North East group lauds Ganduje

A Northeast group, Northeast Youth Progressive Union comprising many youth groups have described the dethronement of Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusill as a move to protect the sanctity of Kano Emirate.
This was disclosed through a press statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Malam Abba Anwar yesterday.
According to the statement, in a letter dated 17th March, 2020 and signed by the Lead Convener of the Group, Ambassador Adamu Jikan Manu, and captioned ‘Congratulatory Letter on the Recently Completed Brawl of Kano Emirate Council,” the group formerly congratulated the Governor.
The letter reads in part: “His Excellency may wish to be informed that we at North East Youth Progressive Union (NYPU), have been at the forefront of studying the antecedents that unfolded throughout the tussle between the former Emir of Kano and your exalted office.
“We admire your desire to salvage the sanctity of Kano Emirate Council…we consider this as a success, not only to His Excellency, Governor of Kano State, the entire populace of Kano State, the Kano Emirate Council, but the entire Northern Nigeria. This singular act is also patriotic from whichever angle one looks at it,” the letter added.
The group also passed vote of confidence on the Governor’s determination to propel the state to the next level as “…was recently justified by the APC Progressive Governors’ Forum, when they announced you as the Best Performing Governor in the country.
“Consequently we want assure Your Excellency for this great success, as it exemplifies your true leadership, and how with this achievement you add another feather to your crown,” the letter noted.
The letter noted that the entire youth from North East wish the Governor all the best in his future endeavours.
About two weeks ago, Kano State Government dethroned Emir Sanusi II, citing insubordination and bastardization of the emirate system as the main reasons for his removal.
