Ramadan: Plateau LG chair felicitates with Muslims

The Management Committee Chairman of Jos North Local Government Area, Shehu Usman has felicitated with Muslim faithful in the area for witnessing the commencement of yet another Ramada fasting.
He urged the Ummah to use the period to pray relentlessly during the fasting period for Allah’s mercy to end the coronavirus pandemic ravaging the whole world.
A statement signed and issued to The Triumph in Jos by Philip Eplong, Senior Information Officer for the area contained this information.
The chairman enjoined Muslims in the area to use the month-long fasting period to also pray for peace of the area, the state and the country at large.
He noted that sacrifice and increased efforts in prayers are important and critical at this time when the world is fighting a vicious coronavirus pandemic, regretting that Muslims in area and across the country cannot observe the Ramadan the way they have been used to over the years.
“The situation should only be seen as part of the sacrifice we all have to make at this time,” the chairman added.
He further enjoined citizens in the area to see this as reflection of sober mood the world has been thrown into due to the pandemic.
While admonishing Muslims in the area to tune their minds to the messages of love, brotherliness and peaceful co-existence inherent in the messages of the Holy Prophet, while also being their brothers keepers, he urged them to continue to join hands with government to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
He wished them a success fasting period, praying to God to grant everyone the strength needed.
