The victory of Kano Pillars Football Club in the just concluded National Challenge Cup Final against Niger Tornadoes has been attributed to the concern of the entire people of the state with their contributions of prayers towards winning the trophy..
The chairman of Kano State Football Association, Alhaji Rabiu Sharu Ahlan stated this in an interview with The Triumph Sports on the victory of the state darling team Sai masu Gida in Kano, saying that the people of the state have shown their commitment financially and morally to the club, adding that thousands of people from Kano trooped into the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna to show their solidarity support.
He described the encounter as one of the greatest football matches in the history of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), commending the management of the Federation and the Nigerian Referee Council for improving their standard in football in the country.
Alhaji Sharu congratulated four Nigerian teams for qualifying to represent the country in the African League Champion and Confederation Cup that will begin next week, saying the teams were Enyimba International, Rangers International, Niger Tornadoes and Kano Pillars Football Club.
He said they have set a record in the African football, appealing to them to be good ambassadors of the nation.
On the recent Nigerian participation in the just concluded African Nations Cup held in Egypt, the chairman commended the Super Eagles and their technical crew for their performance, appealing to them to continue with their patriotism towards lifting the image of the country.
