Communities in Sabon Garin Nangere town, headquarters of Nangere Local Government Area in Yobe State have expressed concern over the neglect of the Police Training School project, a foundation laid since April 7, 2018, calling on concerned authorities to resume work.
One of the concerned citizens of the area, who gave his name as Alhaji Musa Ibrahim told The Triumph that he recalled when the representative of the then Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim K. Idriss, formally laid foundation for the construction of a Police Training College at the area.
“The Inspector General of Police was represented by Bala Kontagora, Chairman, Police Endowment Fund (PEF), who, during the ground breaking ceremony said the contract for the construction of the college at Sabon Garin Nangere has been awarded to HyperiTech Nigeria Limited,” he stated.
According to him, after the foundation laying ceremony, nothing followed.
“We are appealing to the government to resume the work on the site because the residents of the area have since vacated the site to enable the contractor execute the project,” he disclosed.
When The Triumph correspondent visited the area, he found that there was nothing on the ground except grasses and shrubs with some of the site being cultivated by farmers.
