Police in Bauchi arrests 32 suspects

Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a total of 32 suspects in connection with the cases of kidnapping, armed robbery, rape, hard drugs dealing, culpable homicide and other heinous crimes, including being in possession of locally made prohibited firearms.
The Command also rescued a six-year-old child, Muhammad Abubakar Sadiq from kidnappers who demanded a ransom of the sum of N2.5 million before they were arrested by the police at the point of taking the ransom.
The state Police Commissioner, Lawan Tanko Jimeta, who briefed journalists in his office, said that the command also arrested a crack of cocaine dealers on August 3, 2020.
He explained that reliable information at the disposal of the operatives of State Intelligence Bureau Bauchi led to the arrest of two suspected dealers of crack cocaine namely; Chigozie Oje, 32 years of Awala Roundabout Bauchi town and Faruk Yakubu, 25 years of Wunti Street Bauchi town.
He said that nine grams of the crack cocaine were recovered in their possession while investigations were in progress to ascertain the number of those involved in the crime.
Meanwhile, the command called on the people of the state to continue exercising their civic responsibility of pointing and giving vital information that may help the police in its operations and to rid the state of all forms of crime and criminality.
