Plateau South Senatorial bye-election: Hon. Daika emerges PDP flag bearer

The former Plateau State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. George Edward Daika has emerged winner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary election in preparation for the bye election into the state Southern Senatorial Zone slated for October 31, this year.
Hon. Daika polled 434 votes, beating three other aspirants to emerge as the winner of the PDP primaries held at Royal Comfort Hotel Shendam in Shendam Local Government Area of the state.
The election was held under a peaceful and transparent atmosphere, where the aspirants, delegates, supporters and party faithful to were calm.
Those who contested the election are former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Michael Dapianlong who garnered 199 votes, Barr. Philip Nyitni, with 18 votes and Crysantus Dawam with five votes.
