Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has commended the Nigeria Police for their immense contribution and support towards returning relative peace in the state.
He assured citizens of government’s resolve to put in place necessary infrastructure for the sustenance of peace in the state.
Governor Lalong stated this while receiving a certificate for the establishment of a Police Mobile Squadron Unit in Gashish District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of the state.
According to a statement by the state Commissioner of Information and Communication, Yakubu Dati, the presentation was done by the Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Ibrahim K. Idris, in an occasion where he was represented by the DIG Operations, Habila Joshak, at the Police Headquarters in Abuja.
“The IGP assured Governor Lalong that the Nigeria Police will continue to protect and safeguard the life and property of every Nigerian.
“It would be recalled that Governor Lalong had earlier made a request for the establishment of the Police Mobile Barracks at Gashish to forestall further attacks, during the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari and the IGP to Plateau State, after incessant attacks in the area,” said the commissioner.
