‘Operation Sharar Daji records success in Zamfara’

The Acting Director Operation Sharar Daji tagged Operation 777 in Zamfara State; Brigadier General John Agim has said that they have recorded significant success during the operations they carried out in the state.

Briefing newsmen in Gusau at the Presidential Lodge recently, the Acting Director of the Operation, who also conducted the newsmen round to monitor the recovered items retrieved from the bandits, said the combine operations by the military and other security operatives have yielded positive results.

He said the update on crime is “to reiterate the will, determination and resolve of the military, particularly at this period where innocent people were kidnapped to continue to be proactive in a bid to combat degrees of crime in the state.

The Acting Commander explained that the military has recovered 55 motorcycles, used by the bandits, 56 AK rifles, locally made guns, bow and arrows and one big freezer among others.

Others include 1,414 cows, 800 sheep, 14 donkeys, 293 goats, 40 magazines and thousands of ammunition, stating that during the encounter, the military arrested 22 suspects terrorizing innocent people from Zamfara, Kebbi and Katsina States, adding that investigation was on going for the suspect to face prosecution.

He advised members of the public to go about their legitimate businesses without fear, urging them to avail the military with prompt information that would assist them in apprehending criminals.

General Agim further extended his goodwill message to the entire people of the state; especially the journalists for helping the Military during the operations, urging them to maintain the tempo.
