NUJ inspects project in Yobe

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Media Tour Yobe State Council has inspected social development fund projects executed in Gujba Local Government Area of the state.

The chairman Gujba Local Government Council, Alhaji Kyari Batarama and management staff of the council received the chairman of the state council of NUJ, Comrade Yusuf Alhaji Isah and his team recently.

Alhaji Batarama used the occasion to brief the journalists on the achievements so far recorded in water supply, health, agriculture, education and reconstruction as well as the rehabilitation of structures destroyed by insurgents in the area.

He commended the efforts of the media for partnering to educate people on the project executed by the council in order to improve the living condition of the people in the area

Alhaji Batarama said the council had spent over N1.1 million for diesel and maintenance of water facilities in the area.

According to him, the council is working in collaboration with the state primary healthcare management board to promote curative and preventive measures in all sectors of health at the grassroots level.

The chairman commended Governor Ibrahim Gaidam for funding the local government with over N180 million to execute laudable developmental projects that have direct impact on the lives of the common man.

Alhaji Kyari emphasized that almost in all wards of the council the local government executed various projects that impacted positive on the lives of the people of the area.

Earlier, the state chairman of the union, Comrade Yusuf Alhaji Isa said they visited the area to enable members of the council to inspect social development fund projects executed in the local government.
