The Managing Directors of Nigeria Export Processing Zone Authority (NEPZA), Prof. Adesoji Adesugba has warned officials of the authority against violation of financial regulations and inappropriate financial dealings.
This was contained in a press statement signed and issued by Mr. Martins Odeh, Head, Corporate Communication of the Authority, saying Prof. Adesugba made the warning while briefing the audit personnel of the authority.
He said he would not tolerate tampering with financial regulations and corruptive activities both in the procurement process and in the financial management of the agency.
The NEPZA boss said he would enforce extant rules and financial regulations and would not tolerate breaching of due process in procurement and other financial transactions.
He further charges them to ensure proper records keeping and observance of the internal processes, warning that every transaction must be within the bound of the law.
“I am a stickler for transparency and accountability Army official who breached the financial protocols will be sanctioned.
“We will conduct governance audit to ensure the right things are done. We must adopt and follow our processes within the ground of extent regulations,” he further declared.
It would be recalled that Prof. Adesugba assumed duty as NEPZA Managing Director on July 1, this year after President Muhammadu Buhari approved his appointment on June 26.
