NARTO chair cautions youths on inducements
The chairman of Kano State branch of Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), Alhaji Salisu Ibrahim Balarabe has appealed to youths in the state to shun monetary or material inducements from politicians.
He made the appeal while chatting with our reporter recently in Kano metropolis.
Alhaji Balarabe, who described youths as the engine room of any society whose involvements in politics would positively or negatively affect it at large, said the act is inimical to societal development.
“Our fellow young boys and girls must shun all forms of inducements just to cause trouble during election.
“Seven days back in our election, we did not use money or inducements in our campaign, but with Allah in our side, we have emerged victorious.
“They should allow the right persons to contest and win the elections. Youths have long been used as the engine room for violence and we must change the narrative,” he said.
Balarabe also promised to uplift the standard of the association and welfare of its members.
He also advised the youths, especially those who engage themselves in physical fight and on the social media, over election matters to desist from the act.
He said: “All we have to concentrate on the more now is continuous prayer in unionism and in total submission to our Creator for more peaceful atmosphere in the state, so that we shall enjoy smooth business activities devoid of any security threats.”
The chairman noted that Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has been impacting positively on the lives of the people of the state in so many ways, notably in the area of Infrastructure and human developments through the various projects the governor executed, he added.
