My victory is for democracy – Kano Governor
By Abdulyassar Abdulhamid
Addressing hundreds of thousands of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters on Wednesday, Governor Ganduje of Kano State said that his victory at the tribunal is a victory for democracy.
The supporters gathered at the Government House, Kano to welcome him back home after being away for almost two weeks.
Governor Ganduje’s victory was upheld by a panel of the Kano Election Tribunal on Tuesday last week, when the Governor was away.
The Governor appreciated the mammoth crowd that gathered to welcome and congratulate him on his victory at the election tribunal.
“This victory is not mine and my deputy alone; it is a victory for the entire people of Kano State. It is also a victory for democracy, humanity and progress,” Ganduje said.
The Governor, however, appreciated the crowd for their support and prayers during and after the tribunal sittings.
The Governor added that his administration’s resolution in the next four years for the people of Kano State is free and compulsory basic and secondary education in the state.
“I do appreciate how supportive you are before and after the tribunal verdict. I am so grateful.
“Our resolution during the next dispensation in Kano State will be free and compulsory basic and secondary education in Kano State,” Ganduje added.
Governor Ganduje had received a warm reception upon his return from South Africa.
Hundreds of thousands of All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters received him at the Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA).
