A member of the House of Representatives representing Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency, Hon. Solomon Maren, has donated several bags of staples and beverages, cartons of toiletries, seasoning and barrels of oil to 500 displaced persons in Bokkos Local Government Area in Plateau State.
The items were presented by his Senior Legislative Aide, Ezra Bat to the camp officials.
However, the victims who are camping in three Churches in Bokkos have not received any intervention except that of Hon. Maren.
Meanwhile, Hon. Maren has tabled a motion before the House of Representatives calling to an end of the killings in the area.
He said 32 of his constituents had been killed in two weeks of attacks with 5,000 displaced.
The lawmakers unanimously condemned the killings and asked the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs to provide relief materials, rebuild the destroyed homes and provide drugs and sanitation in the affected areas with immediate effect.
The House further assigned relevant committees to monitor the response and report back in weeks
