Military neutralizes bandits, recovers arms in Kaduna

In their efforts in the fight against armed bandits and other criminal activities in the country, the troops of Operation Accord have killed four armed bandits at Jekada Rabi area along Kaduna-Abuja Express Way.


Briefing news men, Major Gen. John Enenche, the coordinator of Defence Media Operations in Defence Head Quarters yesterday in Abuja, said that the operation took place on Wednesday.

He said the troops of Operation Accord mobilized to the scene and laid ambush while acting on credible intelligence on the movement of bandits from Kachia Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, the gallant troops made contact with the bandits and engaged them with the superior fire power and thereby neutralizing four while others escaped with gun shots and wounds.

Major General Enenche said the troops also recovered one AK 47 rifle and five  rounds of nine mm with a magazine.

Presently he said, the gallant troops have continued to dominate the general area with aggressive patrols in search of the fleeing bandits.

While congratulating the nation military, particularly the troops of Operation Accord for their dexterity, he also encouraged them to intensify the onslaught against the criminal elements in the country, calling on the general public to always report any suspected criminal activities to them and other security agencies in their communities.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Navy Ship Bee Croft has conducted patrol of creeks and discovered 350 liters of premium motor spirit contained in seven jerry cans, 350 liters hidden in the bush at Akibo and Orita on the Atlas Cove Island in the South West Zone of the country.

The  coordinator of  Defence  Media Operations in Defence Head Quarters, Major Gen. John Enenche revealed this at a press briefing in Abuja on the activities of Armed Forces and their achievements within the period under review he said troops of Operation Awatse have continued to intensify the fight against pipeline vandals and other criminal element in the zone.

In the North West zone, he said, the nation’s Armed Forces and other security agencies have continued to build on recent successes against armed bandits operation in the zone.

According to him, Operation Hadarin Daji and Salel Sanity carried out aggressive clearance operation against bandits.
