Mass Communication Department Alumni honours 4 PhD graduates

Class 2008 of Mass Communication Department of Bayero University, Kano has honoured four members who bagged Doctorate Degrees.
Dr. Maude Rabiu Gwadabe, Dr. Umar Jibrilu Gwandu, Dr. Ashiru Tukur Inuwa and Dr. Adam Abbas Adam were the celebrants.
Speaking at the occasion, the Chief Imam of Sabon Garin Rano, Malam Dayyab Umar Mai Mai Rano charged the celebrants to use their new position to transform their Alma Mata.
Malam Mai Mai Rano who is a member of the class, admonished celebrants to use their academic status in seeking blessing of Allah, noting that every type of education, if properly utilized, can take person to paradise.
The cleric reminded the awardees to reflect and put into practice the sermon delivered by their teacher, Dr. Abubakar Shehu Minjibir during the last class of their undergraduate programme: “wherever you find yourself do the right thing.”
In his remarks, the convener of the event, Alhaji Jamilu Abdussalam, called on the celebrants to embrace their students and support them in attaining their full potentials.
Alhaji Abdussalam who is the founder of Kannywood film viewing application “North Flix,” appealed to the new PhD graduates to persuade Mass Communication Department of Bayero University, Kano to introduce Masters class on script writing, subtitle and public speaking.
Also speaking, the chairperson of the organising committee, Malama Jamila Dahiru, thanked all those who contributed in making the event a reality, praying to God to reward them abundantly.
Others who spoke at the occasion advised for extending the gesture to other members of the class who excelled in their respective professional callings.
They equally suggested the establishment of endowment funds to cater for families of deceased members.
The gathering has also resolved to facilitate employment to members that are still in labour market.
Highlight of the event include presentation of plaques to the four celebrants.
