Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has been nominated as winner of the 2019-2020 edition of the Nigerian Sustainable Development and Good Governance (SDGG) Award.
‘Masari best governor for SDGG implementation’

The Project Coordinator of the Next Level Agenda Monitor for SDGs 2030, Dr. Muhammad Al-Bashir revealed this during a courtesy call on the governor.
Al-Bashir explained that the award was at the instance of the United Nations Development Goals and the Presidency’s Next Level Agenda/SDG monitoring group.
He said the award will be presented to the Governor during the event tagged: “Aso Rock Declaration” with 500 participants in attendance.
He commended the state government for the timely release of counterpart funding for the SDGG project which was one of the criteria used in selecting him for the award.
The Coordinator said Katsina State Government has so far released N4.5billion as counterpart funding apart from an additional yearly budgetary provision of N1.5billion for SDGs project in the state.
He also said under the SDG, various projects were executed that positively touched the lives of rural communities.
Responding, Governor Masari expressed appreciation to the SDG monitoring group for finding him worthy of the award, pledging to continue supporting the SDG for the execution of people-oriented projects in the State.
