Mangu/Bokkos: Tribunal dismisses APC’s case

The National and State Assembly Election Tribunal has dismissed the petition filled by the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Hon. Danjuma Haruna challenging the declaration of Hon. Solomon Maren of the Peoples  Democratic Party (PDP) for Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency  for lack of merit and upheld the declaration of the respondent as the winner of the election.

The Tribunal dismissed the petitioner recently during its judgment.

 Hon. Haruna had approached the tribunal to declare him the winner of the election on the ground that there were cases of over-voting in some polling units.

The tribunal dismissed the petition for lack of merit and upheld the declaration of the respondent as the winner of the election.

Also the National and State Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting at High Court, Jos, Plateau State has also upheld the election of Hon. Komsol Alphonsus as the winner of Mikang/Qua’An Pan/Mikang Federal Constituency election in the state.

The tribunal dismissed the petition filed by the former House of Representatives member representing same constituency and the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) candidate in the election, Hon. Johnbull Shekarau for lacking in merit.

The tribunal held that the petitioner, Hon. Shekarau failed to prove issues of fake results and over-voting among others in his petition.

The petitioner, Shekarau had approached the tribunal to declare him the winner of the election on the ground that there were cases of over-voting in some polling units and that the certificate of return issued to Komsol was fake.

Komsol was the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election.
