Lafia people happy with chair for project execution
From Suleiman Lawal, Lafia
There is a strong indication that a relationship between Lafia Local Government chairman, Comrade Aminu Mu’azu Maifata and his people is cordial and worth of emulation by elected officers at all levels.
This has come to the fore when the council boss constructed a bridge and culvert which were abandoned for many years without attention by previous administration in the locality.
The Triumph investigation confirmed that previously people living around Kilema behind Lukuman Primary School through Dan Guda area linked to Kofan Makama had no access road to their respective homes.
The investigation further shown that many people, houses and property worth millions of Naira were lost as a result of non accessibility of water ways in the affected areas.
Speaking to our correspondent, an octogenarian, Malam Abdulkadir Immarana, expressed gratitude to Maifata for taking the pain to alleviate the long suffering confronting them for many decades.
“We are short of word to express our unreserved appreciation to the council chairman for this laudable project executed.
“This has demonstrated that he is a leader that has his people at heart and their problem became his personal problem,” he stated.
Also Mr. Frank Emmanuel, a business man, applauded the council boss for coming to their aid, saying that the community would continue to remain indebted to Maifata.
“We have concluded arrangement to offer a special prayer for our chairman for God’s protection against all his visible and invisible enemies,” he said.
However, in his quest to ensure primary school pupils receive lesson in a conducive atmosphere, the council chairman has renovated and provided chairs and desk to more than 150 schools across the locality.
In an interview, Maifata told this correspondent that there is no gain for an elected officeholder to neglect the plight of his electorate for no cause.
“Even before I became the chairman of Lafia Local Government, each time I passed through this area, it was disturbing seeing this community suffering especially during raining seasons.
“That is why, as chairman, I took it upon myself to construct the bridge, renovate and provide desk to some schools to curb their problems.
“The project and programs we embarked are in line with Governor Abdullahi Sule and APC led administration in providing basic and social amenities to people at the grassroots.
Maifata promised to do more for his electorates through provision of infrastructure, physical and human development.
He called on the people of the state to support the administration of Governor Sule in order to enable him succeed in his tireless efforts towards transforming and industrializing the state for better tomorrow.
