‘Kwankwasiyya followers are made to swallow lies’

On the Supreme Court verdict which gave Governor Ganduje victory?

Alhamdulilllah. First of all, we have to thank Almighty Allah who spared our lives up to this time the Supreme Court delivered its judgement which confirmed and affirmed the victory of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje over his re-election as the Executive Governor of Kano State. Anybody who knows politics would not be surprised on what happened recently. First, we have to understand that the Supreme Court judgement was not a fresh or new litigation but to look into the case and go over the decision of the lower court (Court of Appeal) whether it was right to confirm it or not. What Halima Shamaki did right from the election tribunal was what the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal in Kaduna confirmed and justified.

Most interestingly in this case is that the opposition PDP said they did not agree with the “Inconclusive” for which the Judge told them that had they not agreed with the “Inconclusive” they would not have participated in the election. Their participation clearly showed that they agreed with the inconclusive election. What would also impress you is that all seven Judges of the Supreme Court unanimously agreed with the decision of the lower court.

On people’s reaction to the verdict?

The reaction of the people of Kano State was very interesting because the Kanawa voted for Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as the person they want. Ganduje has done what the people in the State want. Most important thing Governor Ganduje did is the recent creation of four new emirates which were upgraded to first class emirates in the State. So the people of these four new emirates of Bichi, Gaya, Karaye and Rano will never welcome the scrapping of their new found freedom and liberty. This is what gives Ganduje the extra- ordinary popularity he now enjoys.

Another instance that gives Ganduje popularity is his new policy on free and compulsory education to all the children in the State; this is what Obafemi Awolowo did and made the Yoruba community what it now is. He has also revitalised the Tsangaya education system which majority of our people have rooted their education from.

Ganduje also gets the testimony even from his enemies that he is a man of the people and makes friendly approaches to what the people want. This good behaviour has added value to his life and attracted people to vote for him.

As of recent, the coalition of Nigerian Governors gave him an award three times as the most performing Governor in the country and even President Muhammadu Buhari appraised him for his feats.

On call to the opposition?

This victory is not only for Ganduje it is for the entire people of the State. I therefore call on the opposition to consider the victory as a will of Allah and if you go up against the will of Allah we will leave you with Him. At this juncture, I urge the entire opposition to come and join hands with Ganduje to make the State progress to greater pedestals.

I also want to advise the Kwankwasiyya group not to believe their leaders who would tell them things that are not true. In fact if they tell them ten things none of them ever comes true and will still accept the eleventh as gospel true regardless. Let me give you an example, when the Ganduje won his gubernatorial election they said he would not be declared winner and INEC declared him winner. They also said he would not be sworn-in as Governor; he was also sworn-in; they also said the election tribunal would annul the election and the tribunal affirmed the election; they also said the Court of Appeal in Kaduna would nullify the election and the Court of Appeal upheld the ruling of the Tribunal; they rushed to the Supreme Court and told their supporters that the Supreme Court would quash the decision of the Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court finally established it with the seven judges unanimously agreeing that Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is a winner of the election. These are virtually hoodwinked into swallowing lies hook, line and sinker; all this speculation is not a character of a good person and it is not also the character of Kanawa.

On call on the Governor.

I want to call on the Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, with all his good character and exemplary leadership which have brought him the popularity and love of the people of the State to continue with his good works. Even before he became Deputy Governor in 1999, he has had a foundation which he is still running single-handedly. His Ganduje Foundation, since its establishment, has converted more than 7, 000 pagans into Islam. The Foundation has built uncountable number of mosques, Islamiyya schools and renovated many cemeteries in the State. Anybody who has these qualities, Kano people will always love him.

I want to call on the former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to come follow Ganduje just as the people followed him when he was Governor because of the power that Almighty Allah gave him, he should come and follow Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje because as Allah’s chosen Governor of Kano State.

On Kano Emirate?

I want to call on the Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II to agree with the policy of government of creating the four new emirates. He should also take a lesson from what happened to his grandfather, late Emir of Kano, Alhaji (Sir) Muhammadu Sanusi who got involved in politics and even though he was among the founding fathers of that politics that time, he was rewarded with deposition. Late Emir Sanusi I was a devoted Muslim for which reason he became the Khalifa of Tijjaniyya. So I advise the Emir of Kano to emulate the good character of his grandfather.

On the politics of Kano Municipal Council?

Whatever happened in the politics of Kano Municipal which led us to lose the State Assembly chair is not from the Governor. It was the handiwork of some people around the Governor; people that are not popular with the electorate and are doing wrong things that don’t tell good on the party. These are the causative agents of our failure.

In the principle of the APC, anybody who occupies a higher political office in the local government must be the leader of our party. In Municipal Council, Sha’aban Sharada is the member House of Representatives and Chairman, House Committee on Security, but because of the greediness of some other people in our local government up to now, they are challenging the leadership of Sha’aban Sharada. Since the creation of APC we have never lost any election in Municipal Council until these people decided to bring division in our party.

I call on these people to accept the will of Allah and agree with the leadership of Sha’aban Sharada as a leader of our great party in Kano Municipal for the development of our people and for the overall interest of our party.
