KTSG constructs PHCs at 361 wards

Katsina State Government is to construct Primary Health Care facilities in each of the 361 wards across the State.
The Executive Chairman, Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Shamsuddeen Yahaya revealed this during a parley with the media in the State.
Yahaya said government will ensure the take-off of the health facilities in 2020 and will be equipped with quality health personnel.
He explained that the construction of the health facilities is to assist communities with health care service closer to them.
Yahaya said in order to boost delivery of health care service, government has set up a committee for the full take-off of primary health care under one roof.
On routine immunisation, he said the agency has successfully carried out immunisation against yellow fever, measles, polio and other child killer diseases.
The Executive Chairman said government appreciates the contributions for ensuring the success of routine immunization in the 2019.
He said the agency has mapped out different health programmes in the 2020 and appealed to the media to ensure the success of the programmes.
Earlier, the State Health Educator, Akilu Mu’azu had said the parley was organised to solicit more support from the media in mobilising and creating awareness on the importance of immunisation.
He stressed on the need for the media to also create awareness for parents to receive birth registration certificates of their children as required by the Constitution.
