KTHA passes no confidence vote on security agencies
…Calls for state police

Katsina State House of Assembly has passed vote of no confidence on heads of security in the state for their failure to solve insecurity problem lingering for many years.
The assembly said the heads of security are not up to their task despite monthly allowance given to them by local and state governments.
Our correspondent reports that the assembly made their position known following daily attacks on innocent citizens by suspected armed bandits.
It was gathered that following the attack, no fewer than 100 people were killed within the last four weeks.
The recent attack was carried out last week Tuesday which claimed lives of 17 people in Safana and Dutsinma Local Government Areas.
At floor of the House, member representing Safana Constituency, Hon. Abduljalal Haruna called for overhauling security for poor performance.
Haruna alleged that security agents in Safana cooperate with bandits to carry out their attack without any hitch.
Also speaking, member representing Batsari Constituency, Hon. Jabiru Yusuf said suspected bandits have taken over control of 13 villages.
He said following daily attack by bandits, thousands of people have left their homes.
During the proceeding, 11 lawmakers presented insecurity situation reports of their areas.
After deliberating on the issue, the House advocated for setting of State Police to take charge of security situation in the state.
The House also called on the state government to relax lockdown order placed on 13 local government areas.
