KSSC inaugurates steering committee for sports development

Kano State Sport Commission has inaugurated a steering committee for sports renaissance summit to study ways of identifying means of reducing government responsibilities in sports development in the state.
The Executive Chairman of the commission, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima disclosed this at the inauguration of the committee held at Bristol Palace recently.
He said the summit was aimed at brainstorming ideas among sport stakeholders with a view to finding ways of utilizing resources in the state.
He further said the commission understood the increase of sports participation in the state with abundant opportunities that will generate revenue.
He stressed the need to draw the attention of investors to supplement government efforts towards developing sports sector in the state.
Galadima said the final reports of the steering committee would lead to organising a sport summit that will attract investors from around the world to augment government efforts in shouldering certain responsibilities.
He said four years after the establishment of the commission, a number of achievements were recorded.
He said the committee members were drawn from various aspects of sports, adding that the 25-member steering committee was divided into four committees of Finance, Technical, Advocate and Promotions.
Speaking, the Chairman of the steering committee, Alhaji Tajuddeen Aminu Dantata assured to discharge their duties effectively, commending Alhaji Galadima for appointing them to contribute their quarter towards sports development.
