It has been a settled argument that in matters of pilgrims’ welfare and successful organisation of Hajj exercise, Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board is in forefront of other states of the federation.
The yearly performances which have earned the Board series of awards are huge testimony to this. These lofty achievements of the Board which are undeniable actions and total commitment of the leadership of the Board is a proactive dynamism of the entire staff of the organization who have been a source of pride to the state and country.
In keeping with its proactive tradition, the Board has launched the programme of training the trainer aimed at training the Islamic scholars selected across the state for the 2020 intending pilgrims from Kano state.
The programme which took place yesterday at School for Arabic Studies attracted leading Islamic scholars like, Prof. AbdullahiSaleh Pakistan, Dr. Harun Muhammad IbnSina, AlhajiKabiru Muhammad Panda with the Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Muhammad Abba Dambatta leading the group.
In his speech, the Executive Secretary who attributed the successes recorded to the State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, called on the Islamic scholars to handle the training programme with the seriousness it deserves because the success of any Hajj operation is in most instances, determined by how far the intending pilgrims understand the Hajj obligation.
The Executive Secretary said though the intending pilgrims will be adequately trained by these renowned scholars about everything concerning Hajj, the Board has concluded arrangement to provide all the intending pilgrims with video clips about what they need to know concerning the entire activities in the exercise, adding that the video clips will be dow-loaded into the individual phones of the intending pilgrims.
In his presentation, the Chairman of the Board, Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Pakistan told the trainers to take the assignment for the training of the pilgrims with utmost commitment because the success of Hajj operation will determine how thorough they have done their job in training them.
According to him, the pilgrims must be informed about the facts that it is their responsibilities to obey the laws of their land and that of Saudi Kingdom. Prof. Pakistan said the pilgrims must not only learn to listen to instructions throughout the period of the exercise, but also consult the Ulama whenever they are confused on any issue.
On his part, the Commander-General, Kano Hisbah Board, Dr. Haroun Muhammad Sani Ibn Sina advised the scholars to be patriotic to the nation and to the Holyland, adding that doing this successfully will earn them reward from God.
According to the IbnSina, since the intending pilgrims have trust in the Islamic scholars, the same way sick person trusts medical doctors, the trainers must be truthful and objective in handling the pilgrims.
To attain these objectives, he said, the trainers must be patient, tolerant and ready to take corrections when necessary.
