KNSG advises motorists on Covid-19 protocols adherence

Kano State Government has said that it is fully committed towards the transformation of transport sector and eradicating the menace of COVID-19 in the state.
The Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Housing and Transport, Dr. M. D. Shehu, who represented its commissioner, Barr. Musa Abdullahi Lawan, made the assertion during a sensitization visit to Na’ibawa and Unguwa Uku motor terminals on COVID-19, inter state transport re-opening and portal registration protocols laid down by the Federal Ministry of Transport, Abuja.
The Permanent Secretary said it was pertinent for each motor park to provide hand washing points, maintain social distancing, provide hand sanitizers as well as fumigate buses.
Dr. Shehu called on the leadership of the motor parks to strictly adhere to the protocols, calling on the drivers to register on the new portal registration by the Federal Government guidelines.
In his remarks, the chairman of Kano State Transport Forum, Alhaji Ashiru Umar, thanked the ministry for the sensitization visit, promising to cooperate with all stakeholders in achieving the desired goal, according to a statement by Malam Yusuf Abubakar Ibrahim, the spokesman of the ministry, which was made available to The Triumph recently.
