Kebbi Gov lauds Buhari for improving power sector

Kebbi State governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has lauded the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari for improving the power sector in the country which has helped in transforming the economy and wellbeing of the people of the nation.
Governor Bagudu made the commendation recently while inspecting a new 60MVA transformer delivered to Power Transmission Station Birnin Kebbi by the Federal Government to boost electricity supply to the state.
He recalled that, last two weeks, the state received 150MVA transformer, explaining that prior to this development, the state shared the same power line with the Republic of Niger but with the delivery of the 60 MVA transformers, it would now be placed on separate line aimed at providing uninterrupted electricity supply throughout the state.
The governor spoke about plans of providing 33KV line double circuit from Kainji Dam to Birnin Kebbi – Argungu – Sokoto – Katsina which when completed, would boost power supply to the Northwest region.
He expressed happiness over commissioning of a power sub-station in Yauri by the Federal Government towards providing steady supply to Yauri, Zuru and environs, commending the effort of the Managing Director of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Mohammed Gur.
Briefing the governor, the Principal Manager Transmission, Engr. Kabiru Sulaiman said the new 60MVA transformer was a replacement of a faulty one of the same capacity.
He explained that the installation of the equipment would be carried out within two weeks after which Birnin Kebbi and other parts of the state would enjoy regular electricity supply.
Engnr. Sulaiman praised Governor Bagudu for his support and assistance which led to the delivery of the transformer promptly.
Governor Bagudu, after inspecting the transformer at the Transmission Station Birnin Kebbi, commended the engineers and transporters for spending days on the road from Ijebuode to Birnin Kebbi to ensure safe delivery, a statement by Yahaya Sarki, the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor has disclosed.
