Senior Special Assistant to the Katsina Governor on Restoration Project, Alhaji Sabo Musa Hassan, has described as Un-Islamic, recent protest by some youths on the activities of armed bandits in the states of the North-West region.
Musa, who revealed this in an interview with newsmen in Katsina, said Islam is not in support of protest against leaders.
He said although people have right to their opinion on issues, but it is Un-Islamic to protect against leaders.
“People have the right to organize protests on issues, but not on their leaders, because protest is not the right way to address problems.”
Musa said people have many ways to channel their grievances to their leaders through dialogue or sending messages not protest.
He said organizers of protests should always be mindful of some disgruntled elements who use the opportunity to cause trouble, steal and attack innocent citizens during the protest.
Musa commended state commissioner of Police in Katsina State, Sanusi Buba for ensuring peaceful conduct of recent protest in the state.
He appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to continue taking all necessary measures to end armed banditry activities in states of North – West region.
