Katsina Speaker gives scholarship to 1,002 students

Speaker of Katsina State House of Assembly, Alhaji Tasiu Musa Zango has disbursed N8.2 million as scholarship to 1,002 students of tertiary institutions.
At a ceremony held at the secretariat of Zango Local Government Area of the state, Musa said the move was to encourage students to pursue their education.
He said the beneficiaries of the scheme from Zango and other villages were selected from various universities and tertiary institutions.
He called on them to make good use of the assistance, assuring that more students would be selected to benefit from the scholarship.
He assured people of his constituency of continued effort to provide more dividends of democracy to the area. Earlier, Governor Aminu Bello Masari, who flagged off the disbursement of the scholarship, called on other lawmakers to emulate the Speaker.
Masari said youths should be encouraged to pursue Western and Islamic education to produce good leaders for the country.
He warned politicians against encouraging thuggery among youths to achieve political selfish interest. Masari assured people of the area that his administration would construct Daura–Zango Road in fulfillment of the promise made during the 2019 election campaigns He commended people of the area for supporting his administration’s programmes and policies.
