Karaye to begin measles vaccination tomorrow
Tomorrow is slated for the commencement of a five-day measles immunization exercise in Karaye Local Government Area of Kano State.
Contained in a statement made available to The Triumph by the Information Officer of the area as well as the Emirate Council, Malam Haruna Gunduwawa, already arrangements for the kickoff of the exercise in the area have reached advanced stage.
The statement added that the Primary Healthcare Coordinator of the area, Alhaji Hassan Makama Getso has earlier held a sensitization meeting with traditional rulers of the area at its District Head office.
It said the coordinator spoke at the meeting through his health education assistant where he said the five-day event is to cater for children from the age of nine months to five years.
According to him, the area has been divided into 55 centres for easy coverage, while qualified ad-hoc staff were selected and trained to carryout the exercise effectively.
Getso has therefore solicited support of the traditional institutions and religious leaders of the area towards the success of the programme.
Responding, through his secretary, Malam Yusuf Dan Tanko, the District Head of Karaye, Magajin Gari of Karaye and Senior Councillor of the Emirate, Engr. Shehu Ahmad, reaffirmed their readiness to support any policy and programme that can impact directly on the lives of the people of the area.
The District Head enjoined village and ward heads of the area to mobilise and ensure full participation of their subjects in the programme.
