‘Karaye Emirate stands for less-privileged’


Karaye Emirate Council has restated its readiness to support any move aimed at improving the living standard of the less-privileged in the society.

The Emir of Karaye, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar II made the disclosure while receiving members of the Society for Family Rehabilitation and Economic Growth under the leadership of Hajiya Binta Umar Ja’afar in his palace. 


Alhaji Abubakar II said the emirate would remain committed towards ensuring that people especially those in need are economically supported in order for them to earn a better living.


The Emir praised the efforts that aim at facilitating widows and orphans, enjoining wealthy individuals to support the initiative.


Emir Abubakar also assured of the emirate’s support for the association to be effectively established in the council.


Earlier, the Chairperson of the Association, Hajiya Binta Umar Ja’afar had said the Society for Family Rehabilitation and Economic Growth was established more than 10 years ago to cater for the welfare of the less- privileged people especially widows and orphans.


The Chairperson further stated that the Association had been established in Bichi Emirate, while arrangements were in advanced stage for its establishment in Karaye Emirate.


Ja’afar then requested the indulgence of the Emir to be the Grand Patron of the Association.


Also from the Karaye Emirate, the Emir has turbaned Mallam Ibrahim Dan Yaro and Mallam Aminu Adamu as Imam and Deputy Imam of Riji Tsauni Village Friday Mosque in Gwarzo Local Government Area respectively.


The Emir will commence Juma’at prayer and other religious activities from today in the Mosque, according to the Information Officer of Karaye Emirate Council, Haruna Gunduwawa.
