The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Kano State Council has expressed its shock to the news of the death of three medical doctors of the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital who lost their lives as a result of Lassa fever and a fatal motor accident.

A statement signed by the State Chairman and Acting Secretary of the Council, Comrades Kabiru Ado Minjibir and Hussaini Budah respectively, described the incident as double tragedy to the Hospital.
They commensurated with the bereaved families of the deceased, Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Emmanuel, the Government and people of Kano State, staff and management of the Hospital as well as Nigeria Medical Association, Kano State Chapter over the sad and irreparable loss.
The Congress then called on all health workers in the State to be meticulous in discharging their duties and report any suspected symptoms of Lassa fever immediately to the appropriate place for professional measures.
The statement however, commended the Federal and the State Governments for taking proactive measures to arrest the situation and urged the people of Kano State to cooperate and support Government initiatives as well as health workers toward curbing the menace.
Meanwhile the NLC has also congratulated Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on his affirmation as the duly elected Governor of the State by the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
The statement described the victory as an answer to the prayers for a peaceful resolution to the political tension among the people of Kano State, appealing to all political parties to put politics aside and join the government in power toward moving the State forward.
