The association of Katsina State Indigenes Residing in Kano has conducted an election to elect new officials who will run the affairs of the state chapter for the next tenure.

The election was held at the conference hall of Mambayya House, Gwammaja quarters in Kano metropolis recently.
According to the chairman of the election committee, Comrade Nura Yahaya, the position of secretary and that of financial secretary were keenly contested.
Yahaya said Alhaji Muhammad Ila Danmulki was unanimously elected as chairman unopposed.
He said the position of secretary was contested between two candidates with Aliyu Garba defeating Ishaq L. Ishaq with 235 votes against 98 scored by Ishaq.
Ado Muhammad Jogana and Musa Muhammad Hassan contested for financial secretary position where Musa Muhammad Hassan emerged winner with 260 votes to defeat his opponent who polled 76 votes.
Yahaya then urged the newly elected officials to discharge their duties with the fear of God, hoping that they would be judicious in leading the association.
On his part, the new chairman of the association, Alhaji Muhammad Danmulki urged members to be good ambassadors of the association, adding that they were known for their decorum, unity and love for peace.
He said the association became popular in enhancing the comfortability of its member as well as in extending hands of support to them at all times.
Danmulki said recently, they hosted some displaced persons who remained with them till the time normalcy was restored in their respective places of residence.
He said the association has been existing for the past 50 years in the state, calling on wealthy members of the association to help in empowering those in need.
