Kano Gov admonishes Pillars fans
…Inspects Sani Abacha Stadium

Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has appealed to members of Kano Pillars Football Fans Club to be disciplined and law abiding during tomorrow’s encounter between the State’s darling team, Kano Pillars Football Club and their visiting Ghanaian League Champions, Asante Kotoko of Accra at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
He made the appeal while inspecting the venue of the encounter and urged them to shun pitch encroachment during and after the game, stressing the importance of maintenance of peace to the lifting of the state and country’s image in the world, saying adequate security personnel have been provided to ensure law and order at the stadium.
The Governor further called on the people of the state to come out enmass to support the state darling team and assured government’s readiness to continue providing all necessary support and cooperation to ensure that the Pillars maintain their leading position in Nigerian football circles and beyond.
On the ongoing rehabilitation work at the stadium, the Governor further expressed satisfaction with the level of work and commended the contractor for his commitment to the work and urged him to ensure the rehabilitation works are completed on schedule.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmad Sagagi assured their readiness to ensure that the work is completed at the right time and with quality.
He then thanked the Governor for providing sufficient funds to rehabilitate the stadium.
The Governor was taken round to inspect the project by both the Permanent Secretaries of Ministry of Youth and Sports and that of Ministry of Works, Dahiru Adda’u and their directors.
