Kano Fire Service saves 900 lives

Kano State Fire Service has saved property worth N1,797,038,101 from various disasters in the state between January and October this year.
A statement from the agency signed by its spokesman, Principal Fire Officer Sa’idu Muhammad Ibrahim explained that an estimated property worth N543, 738,000 was lost and 899 lives were saved as 98 lives were lost from the disasters.
Also, he said in the year under review, the agency has received a total number of 629 fire calls and rescued 638, while it received 98 false calls.
The Principal Fire Officer therefore advised the general public to take precaution of preventing fire disaster as the dry season is approaching particularly at home and market places, urging women to avoid children from using cooking gas as well as charcoal.
