Kankarofi presents sports development plans

In an effort to fast track sports towards development in Kano State, the Advisory Committee for Four Year Development Plan set up by the state Sports Commission, under the leadership of Alhaji Garba Bello Kankarofi has submitted its report.
Receiving the report, the executive chairman of the commission, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima, commended the committee for a job well done, assuring that the commission would judiciously pay heed to their recommendations.
He further said the committee was aimed at improving sporting fortunes of the state to migrate the State Sports Council to a commission in line with best practices through the passage of a law by the state House of Assembly in 2016.
Alhaji Galadima said the development plan would necessitate the need to take advantage of initiating policies, templates and framework to sustain and improve the success of the commission.
Speaking earlier, the chairman of the committee, Alhaji Kankarofi thanked Galadima for giving them the opportunity to contribute their quota towards the development of sports in the state.
He hopes that the commission would judiciously utilise the findings and practice them according to professional knowledge.
The committee identified the objectives of the law establishing the commission and suggested process and steps to be taken to actualise them, the framework in drawing up short, medium and long term projections to place the state in the top echelons of sports excellence by 2023.
The committee also designed a timeline for the realisation of the objectives, proposed the sustenance and ways to be funded by the private sector in the line with best practice.
