Minister of Water Resources, Alhaji Suleiman Adamu has sent a three- man committee from the National Water Resources Institute (NWRI) to carry out a comprehensive assessment of damages caused by flood in Jigawa in response to accusation levelled against him for his failure to pay sympathy visit to the victims of the calamity.

Sani said that Adamu has sent the team to go round all the affected areas in the state to see how the recent flood wreaked havoc in the state.

He said that one of the terms of references of the committee is to identify the people, property, infrastructure and farm lands that were submerged by the flood.

The ES stated that the committee is also to recommend measures aimed at forestalling or reducing future occurrence of the disaster.

He explained that the committee is expected to interview the affected people to find out the cost implications of the property destroyed in the flood.

Sani further announced that the three-man committee headed by one Mr. Jersey Stephen, was given one week to finish its assignment and report back to the ministry for  action..
