Jigawa donates N39m to NYSC for renovation

Jigawa State Government says it has released the sum of N39million for the general renovation of General Yakubu Gown NYSC
Permanent Camp located at Fanisau, Dutse, Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has announced.
He made the announcement in the speech he delivered at the formal opening of the 2020 Batch ‘A’ Stream One Orientation Course for corps
members deployed to the state recently.
‘’My beloved compatriots, my administration is determined to ensure
that this orientation camp becomes the best in the country. To this
effect, I have approved the immediate release of N39milion to
give a comprehensive face-lift of the camp,’’ he pointed out.
He said out of this amount, the sum of N22milion was devoted for the construction of an additional hostel for corps members while the sum of N17million was meant for the renovation of the camp.
Governor Abubakar who was represented by the State Head of Service, Alhaji Hussaini Ali Kila, said the government is aware of the
tremendous contributions of the NYSC to the rapid socio-economic and political development of the young state, pointing out that his
administration greatly appreciates those contributions.
Earlier in his welcome address, the State Coordinator of the NYSC, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdu Muhammad had disclosed that from the start of registration to the cut-off time, they had registered a total of 1, 813 out of the 2,100 prospective corps members deployed to the state
comprising males and females, saying that their demography represented all the six geo-political zones of the country.
The Coordinator stated further that all the corps members in the camp
were thoroughly screened before entry with no single case of
Corona or Lassa virus, stressing that they were all hale and hearty.
