Investigate illegal space allocations in S/Gari market – Kakara demands

Kano State Government has been advised to investigate those allocating illegal spaces on roads walk within the vicinity of the Abubakar Rimi Market, Sabon Gari to address the problem of erecting illegal structures without the consent of the authority.
The chairman of the Sabon Gari Butchers Association, Alhaji Musa Kakara gave the advice in an interview, describing the recent feud between government officials and youths during the clearance exercise of the structures in the market as unfortunate, condemning the action by the youths.
He said majority of the traders abandoned their shops inside the market and erected the illegal structures because of selfishness, saying that the traders have blocked the main entrance of the market making it unable for the customers to gain inside.
He stressed that the presence of petty traders has been blocking all water ways in the market, especially during the rainy period.
Alhaji Kakara further commended the management of the market and that of KAROTA for their joint efforts in clearing the traders, especially at ‘Yankura side.
He said the traders have blocked the major road, appealing to the Managing Director of the market to maintain the clearance exercise.
He accused some unauthorized people claiming to be representatives of the Managing Director for allocating the illegal spaces to traders after collecting money, urging him to find out those unpatriotic elements, saying that they are tarnishing the image of the government.
