Sarkin Yakin Bauchi and District Head of Lame, Alhaji Aliyu Yakubu has urged criminals in his domain to repent and surrender their arms so as to enjoy amnesty and reintegrate into the society to enable them contribute their quota in nation building.

This is just as the community in Toro Local Government Area moved to send over 200 people to study various medical and health courses as part of effort to address shortage of medical personnel and teachers in their domain.

Lame disclosed this in Bauchi while answering questions from newsmen at the end of his visit to Tama and Tulu areas in his domain recently, where he said even though the area has a population of over one million people, they are however, facing the problems of lack of medical personnel and teachers due to bad road.

He said the 200 people selected 40 came from each ward in the district and will be sponsored through community self-help project before going to government for more. Already someone has pledged to sponsor 20 out of the number and effort is being made to sponsor the remaining 180 persons.

He commended Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad, Kauran Bauchi, for his intention to construct Magama-Gumau Rishi-Rahama Road which will open up the area and thanked the government for bringing schools and hospitals to the area, reiterating their commitment to supporting all government laudable projects in the area.
