‘I didn’t refuse isolation center,’ says lawmaker

A Member Representing Nguru I constituency at Yobe State House of Assembly, Lawan Sani Inuwa Nguru, alias Mister Lass has refuted claims by a national daily that he refused to be isolated after tested positive of covid-19.
The Member who spoke to newsmen said he was feeling okay but decided to conduct personal testing of the virus which later turned positive.
His words “It was last Friday, I took the decision to undergo covid-19 testing, considering the fact that I am a politician and have been mingling with many people across the country.
“After my sample was taken, the result returned positive of covid-19 and I was kept at the new isolation centre of the Specialists Hospital Damaturu, since then I was there and the health workers are attending to me.”
“Who am I that I will be called upon to be isolated and refused, I am not above or better than anyone. Despite that; I am a Member, House of Assembly; that does not mean I am above the authority. I am a complete gentleman that has concern for my people,” he said.
The Member who is currently taking medication at his isolation centre, says he does not have any symptom of the disease and prayed God that soonest he will test negative and be discharged.
He called on all citizens of the state to cooperate with the state Covid-19 Committee on Prevention and Control and also observe all the
precautionary measures put in place by the health workers to curb the spread of the virus.
